- May 29, 2023, Ambassador Maeda attended Qatar-Japan Research Collaboration (Cycle 2) Award Announcement Ceremony at Qatar University
- May 24, 2023, Ambassador Maeda visited two public schools in Al Khor to present children’s drawings from Asa District, Hiroshima City, Japan
- May 13, Ambassador had a meeting with Mr. Khalid bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, President of the Qatar Taekwondo, Judo & Karate Federation, at the World Judo Championships Doha 2023
- May 8, Ambassador attends the opening ceremony and watches the final matches of the World Judo Championships Doha 2023

Cultural Materials for Rent


Many Japanese cultural items are available for lending. These include kimonos, yukata, happi, flags, daruma dolls, traditional toys, calligraphy sets, and musical instruments. Please get in touch with us if you are looking for an opportunity to learn more about Japan at school, university, or any non-commercial event. Japanese embassy staff will visit the site to give customized lectures and programs such as trying on kimono, origami classes, Japanese calligraphy demonstration, and an introduction to traditional children's games.
At the Embassy of Japan, we provide various kinds of books, brochures, maps of Japan, and the periodic magazine "niponica" which introduces information on Japan's modern and traditional culture, technology, and society.
