2. What is Visa Waiver Passport Registration?
This arrangement allows Qatari nationals to enter and stay in Japan for short-term purposes (such as tourism and business) for up to 30 days per visit, simply by registering their e-Passports. Once registered, multiple entries are permitted during the validity period.
Notes:
1. The registration is valid for 3 years or until your passport expires (whichever comes first).
2. During this period, you can travel to Japan multiple times, provided each stay does not exceed 30 days. There is no need to register your passport for every trip. (If your intended stay exceeds 30 days, you must apply for a visa.)
3. Once the registration expires, you must register again.
4. If you renew your passport, you must register the new one.
6. Special/Diplomatic Passport Holders are eligible to enter Japan and stay there up to 90 days without obtaining a visa or registering their passport. (Please see "4. Special/Diplomatic Passport Holders".)

3. How to Register your Passport (2 Ways)
There are two ways to register your passport.
(A) Online through the JAVES (Japan Visa Exemption System)
1. Please begin your online application through the JAVES System.
2. Processing time is 2 Business days. Please check Processing Time for JAVES.
3. Once registered, you will receive a “Visa Exemption Registration Notice” email from the JAVES System.
4. At the check-in counter, please display the notification email on your mobile device.

When a third party (proxy) applies on your behalf, please ensure that your personal email address and contact details are entered, not those of the representative.
Please ensure you will enter your personal information correctly. Entering incorrect information will delay the process.
Screenshots and printouts are not accepted. The notice must be shown live on your device to verify the real-time countdown timer, which comfirms its authenticity.
If a third party (proxy) has applied online on your behalf, please follow these steps.
(1) Obtain the QR code from your proxy, either as a PDF or a printed copy.
(2) Scan the QR code with your device.
(3) Log in by entering your “passport number” and “date of birth”.
(4) Display your “Visa Exemption Registration Notice” on your device at the check-in counter.
(B) In Person at the Embassy (Appointment Required)
1. Please book an appointment and visit the Embassy with the following documents.
・Passport (ICAO compliant e-Passport)
・Passport Copy in Colour (Personal Details Page)
・Application Form for Passport Registration
2. Processing time is 1 business day.
*You can collect your registered passport on the next working day.
3. A registration sticker and a date stamp will be placed on your passport.
4. At the check-in counter, please present the page with the sticker and the stamp.
4. Special/Diplomatic Passport Holders
・Special or diplomatic passport holders are eligible to enter Japan and stay there up to 90 days without obtaining a visa or registering their passport.
